Milo and Tiffany

Welcome to the first post on Pets & Owners!  It's fitting that the first picture is of Tiffany and Milo, our downstairs neighbors.  We are particularly happy to feature Tiffany and Milo because Milo was one of our foster cats!  In early August, our two fosters, Hercules and Tortilla, were adopted, and as we were heading out of the country on vacation, we weren't going to foster any cats until we returned.  Besides that, our handy, dandy basement apartment neighbor who always cat sat for us was moving!  When we received an email from our rescue organization's foster coordinator about an orange boy kitten who was turned into a shelter with no room, we said, "Well, we'll take him, but we're going to be gone for a week, so we're really your worst possible option."  Apparently, there were no other options, but we were better than nothing for this poor kitten....

When our new neighbor, Tiffany, came up to meet us and give us cupcakes (we always hit the neighbor jackpot), I asked within about three minutes of meeting her, "Do you like animals?  Would you cat sit our foster kitten for a week?"  Nice introduction… fast forward to when we returned home from traveling to find Milo missing.  I figured he was downstairs at Tiffany's, so I went downstairs to retrieve him.  Tiffany's face fell.  "I thought you weren't coming home until tomorrow," she said.  "We need to talk about this, because I don't think I can give him up."  A match was made!  Milo and his mom like long play sessions with feather-tipped wands and frequent naps on the couch.  As Milo gets bigger, he'll probably have to kick the habit of sleeping on Tiffany's neck...

  1. It looks to me like Milo and Tiffany are the ones who hit the jackpot. Lovely story, and lovely picture.

I'm really looking forward to the day when you can post Glitterball's story along with her new person, whoever that might be. She's a sweet, sweet girl, but she's making the rest of us crazy!
